If the memory is not enough, the running speed will decrease, the program response will become slow, or there will be stuttering.
How to know if the Mini PC RAM needs to be upgraded?
When the Mini PC is stuck, we can use the task manager to check the memory usage and judge whether it is caused by insufficient memory, the specific operation is as follows:
Press 【Ctrl+Shift+Esc】 at the same time, open the computer 【Task Manager】, and select 【Details】-【Performance】-【Memory】, if the RAM usage percentage exceeds 90%, it means that the RAM capacity has encountered a bottleneck and needs to be upgraded.
The task manager can also check the number of RAM slots on the Mini PC, and decide whether to replace a larger capacity RAM or directly install another RAM.

1. Choose the correct RAM specification.
Because different motherboards support different RAM specifications, before upgrading the RAM, you need to confirm whether the motherboard supports DDR3, DDR4, or the latest DDR5 RAM. At the same time, laptop and desktop RAMs are also different in size and need to be noted when choosing.
2. Confirm the maximum supported capacity of the Mini PC's RAM.
The maximum supported RAM capacity of each Mini PC is different. If it exceeds the maximum supported capacity, it may cause failure to boot or failure to recognize.
3. Confirm the supported frequency of the Mini PC's RAM.
The motherboard and CPU also have requirements for the frequency of RAM. If the Mini PC only supports 2666MHz, inserting a 3200MHz RAM will automatically lower its frequency to 2666MHz. If you are directly installing a new RAM, it is recommended to choose one with the same frequency as your machine's original one.
4. Problems to pay attention to when building dual channels
If you want to make two RAMs on your Mini PC from a dual channel*, you need to choose ones with identical specifications, capacities, and frequencies.
For example, using 16GB 3200MHz RAM and an 8GB 2666MHz one to form a dual channel, 8GB of the 16GB one can form a 2666MHz dual channel with another one, and the remaining 8GB still runs in 2666MHz single channel mode.
*It depends on the action of the memory controller. In theory, it can double the bandwidth provided by two equal-specification memories, thereby effectively improving your Mini PC's running speed.
