I reckon AMD processors are the way to go for mini PCs, ya know? They're cheaper, use less power, and pack a better punch with multi-core performance.

I wouldn't prioritize just one or the other. Each processor is good in its own way, and real-world performance tests can hardly be conducted under normal conditions. I mean the core degradation rate parameter, the scrap rate and thousands of other criteria are secret.
Personally I am a fan of desktop PCs and power consumption is one of the lowest priority.
